Sevilla FC partners with Smart Protection to fight global counterfeits. They've eliminated over 2,000 infringements, protecting fans and revenue.
Sevilla FC has reached a strategic agreement with Smart Protection, a Spanish company leading the way in online brand protection and the fight against digital piracy, with the goal of combating the proliferation of counterfeit products that affect both the club's image and its official global merchandising revenue.
The initiative comes in response to the growing volume of unauthorized replica kits distributed via platforms like AliExpress, DHgate, or social media networks such as TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, as well as on fraudulent websites indexed by Google. Many of these low-quality, guarantee-free counterfeit kits are sold at prices much lower than the official products—sometimes between 20 and 30 euros—causing confusion among fans and financial damage to the club.
The service offered by Smart Protection is based on a comprehensive system for the detection, reporting, and removal of infringing content. Using their proprietary technology combined with their legal team, thousands of listings on marketplaces, search engines, and social media are automatically monitored, and action is taken against any misuse of the club's distinguishing marks, from the crest to the kits.

To date, more than 2,000 infringements related to counterfeit Sevilla FC products have already been detected, primarily located in China, the United States, Malaysia, and Vietnam, which are the main sources of origin or distribution for this type of content. Smart Protection’s action has resulted in the elimination of hundreds of links across marketplaces and social media, as well as the de-indexing of over 700 websites that offered illegitimate products from outside Europe, simulating official stores.
Sevilla FC stresses that brand protection is a fundamental pillar of its digital and commercial strategy, especially in a global context where online sales channels are increasingly exposed to these types of abuses. “We want to guarantee that our fans always access official products and prevent them from being deceived. To achieve this, having a partner like Smart Protection is a key tool that provides security, technology, and speed in management,” the club emphasizes.
Smart Protection, for its part, reaffirms its commitment to the protection of sports entities. “We work with clubs and brands globally, and we know that football is one of the sectors most affected by digital counterfeiting. Our goal is to act quickly and effectively so that teams can focus on what they do best: competing, growing, and connecting with their communities,” explains the company.
This agreement reinforces Sevilla FC’s positioning as an entity committed to innovation, transparency, and the defense of its assets, both physical and digital, in an increasingly complex environment.
